WP,CO

We drove back home from Winter Park Spring Break 2011, a few days ago, but before I post about that vaca, I need to update from last time we were there in February.

WP, CO Part 3....
Aunt Lisa flew in town to be our "day-time" nanny. This meant Frank & I were able to ski together, yay! (which hasn't happened since 2004!)
While Frank & I were skiing together, Lily skied, yay, again! We dropped her off at full day ski school with "Mr. Potato Head" (the name of her instructor, because he tucks his gloves in his goggles on each side of his head and, therefore, looks like a Mr. Potato Head!) She was excited about her ski school and VERY excited about her helmet! In fact, That's all she was asking about, "where's my helmet?". At least she's all about safety! After our day of skiing we came down to "Mt. Maury" (the ski school mountain with a magic carpet) to watch Lily. She did very well with both attending ski school with-out becoming upset & learning how to ski. I'm thrilled she's learning to ski at an early age instead of in her twenties, which is when I learned. It's much harder when your old!!! Lol!
That night we feasted on fresh Salmon which was flown in from the Pike Market in Seattle. Frank used a few special spices on the fish then grilled it on cedar planks & can I tell ya, "it was to die for!". We, also, indulged in a ton of wine that night. As I stated before we drink a lot of wine while in WP. Well, that night was a whole other story! Five bottles of wine later & everyone was calling it a night. No, not me... I finished the night off with a margarita. Yes, ridiculous, I know. Believe me, I know!

WP,CO part 4...
I was suffering from the self-inflicted cocktail flu! No skiing for me. Instead, I took the girls to gymnastics, came back to the house, ate a quick lunch & we all took a long nap! It was just what I needed since overindulging the night before!

WP,CO part 5...
Frank & I were able to ski & have lunch together with our friends. What a fun, unique day it was. I use the word unique because right now having young children those "adult only" days are scarce. The skiing was fabulous! We were skiing "white-out" conditions, which is not always fun, but we layered up to stay warm, the powder was awesome & we enjoyed a tasty lunch at Sunspot which is 2 miles high!

WP,CO part 6...
I decided not to ski this day and let Aunt Lisa ski. She is an awesome skier so we let her slice-up the slopes! Instead, we had an easy morning, took the girls to the base & let Lily show us her skills on Mt. Maury. It was a thrill to watch my first born wear her ski bibs & adorable matching jacket, helmet, cool goggles, teeny-tiny ski boots & skis then ski down Mt. Maury! She had a blast & we did, too, just by watching her!

Stay tuned for Spring Break 2011 news & pictures.
