Memorial Day Weekend

Memorial Day weekend starts the summer and we usually spend it at the beach.
South Padre Island
And good news... No oil!
In months or years to come, when I look back over my blog, I will wonder "what in the world does that mean?" Then, I will remember of the most horrible and disasterous oil spill of American history. Thousands of barrels of oil are spilling out into the waters of the Gulf of Mexico as I am typing... And the Louisiana shore line is being attacked by this escaping oil. The ocean, fish, eco system, and life as the "Louisiana people who live and work off the waters" know it, will not be the same for a LONG time.
Not to make light of that situation, but this blog is about us, so here we go...
Our weekend at the beach has been full of ocean, sand, pool, sunscreen, and lots of seafood (for us adults). Lily and Morgan have enjoyed their playtime at the beach.
The schedule of our vacation days have gone as the following... We started our days with an early morning dip in the ocean, once the girls had enough of that we headed to the pool. We finished up there then came inside for lunch and naptime for the girls. Today, the husband and I were able to spend some nice, quite time on the beach while the girls slept with Nana nearby listening for them to wake up. After naps it is round two at the beach and pool. This is followed by bath time and out to dinner! We've visited Daddy's once and Blackbeard's twice for our weight in yummy seafood!
Thanks to Papa and Nana for a fun family weekend!!!

Farmer's Market Saturday

This past Saturday, the girls and I met our friends Ashley and her daughter, Kendall, at the Farmer's Market in downtown McKinney.
Ashley and Kendall had a nice, earth friendly bag full of healthy stuff.
We, on the other hand, purchased sweets. Lily insisted on muffies (AKA: mini cup-cakes with sprinkles). The muffies were a little hard to hang on to, and because Lily dropped a few, we had to go back and buy more. On the last trip back to the muffy stand, the sweet lady said, "Don't worry, this one is on me!"
The girls were very cute together...Sitting next to each other on an old wooden step eating their muffies, petting a nice dog, dancing to a folk band, then giving kisses to one another when it was time to go. Unfortunately, the only pics I took of the girls were when they were playing with sticks.
Thanks to Ashley and Kendall (AKA: Ka-Ka, when Lily says it) for a nice Saturday morning :)

Saturday Night Fun

Riding in style!!!

This past Saturday night we enjoyed a good "ole-fashioned" country night out. Our neighbors hosted a benefit honoring Susan G Komen. One great thing about living in the country is you can have a LOUD party and no one complains!

We enjoyed fabulous live music, BBQ, and a jump house for the kids. But the best part of it all is simpleness of watching our children laugh, dance, sing, and smile all night long!
And giving to a great cause!!!

Happy Mother's Day

Happy Mother's Day to my mother who would do absolutely anything for me.
And to all the other mothers out there who have given up everything, at one time or another, to become a mother.
THE HARDEST JOB OF ALL!!!
